This image shows a Pochampally saree of Telangana state. In the medieval period there was a great degree of sophistication in the designs and weaves and India was famous for the fabrics produced at special centres in eastern India. Local legends, houses, palanquins, birds, flowers and domestic scenes are depicted on the Pallus as also in the main body of the saree.

Looks absolutely beautiful. I hope more people start to appreciate the traditional crafts and weaving techniques from India. People all around the world are already appreciating the weaves!
