This is an image of a designing a floor which is a part of various occasions, seasons and festivals in India. It is called rangoli in hindi language, Kolam in Tamilnadu, Maggu in Andhra Pradesh, Ossa in Odisha, Rangvalli in Maharashtra, Alpana in West Bengal etc. Floor designs are made free hand and the form evolves as the work is in progress. Very often the form or design begins at the centre with a dot and expands in concentric patterns of geometrical shapes, circles, squares, triangles and straight lines or curves.
