Lakshmi Narayan Temple:

This image is showing the Lakshmi Narayan temple which is in Chamba. There are quite a few small temples at Chamba and Kulu, datingback to the early 13th century A.D. These temples are good examples of Himalayan architecture of the period and noteworthy for their simple design and the graceful lines of the vimana. The sloping roofs of the shikaras and the porticos are perhaps utilitarian, as the snow does not collect on such structures but slides down, thus keeping the roof clear of snow and water. In this picture, we see Lakshmi Narayan Temple, located at Chamba. The temple is said to have been founded by Sahila Verman (920-40 A.D.) shortly after the foundation of the town was laid. The temple contains an image of Lord Vishnu in white marble adorned with gold ornaments.
